Welcome to Theory to Trade (T2T) by TRACE. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, process, utilize, and protect your information when you enroll in our programs (CRISP, IFAP, Lead-x, etc.), visit our website, or interact with our learning management systems.

By using our services, registering as a student, or supporting as an industrial mentor, you agree to the practices outlined in this policy.

02 Information We Collect

We collect personal information to provide you with the best possible educational and professional matchmaking experiences. The information we collect falls into the following categories:

  • Registration Details: When you register as a student or mentor, we collect personal identifiers such as your full name, email address, contact phone number, university or professional affiliation, and academic details.
  • Professional Dossier & CV: If you apply for programs or internship matchmaking, you may share your Curriculum Vitae (CV), academic transcripts, portfolio links, GitHub username, and LinkedIn profile.
  • Usage Data: When visiting our website, we may collect technical details such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and duration of stay.

03 How We Use Information

We use your personal information strictly for educational, administrative, and professional development purposes, specifically to:

  • Evaluate applications and process enrollment for training cohorts (such as CRISP Practitioner or Lead-x).
  • Provide guided project structures, assign students to team spaces, and pair student groups with appropriate mentors.
  • Coordinate and facilitate live physical workshops and virtual mentoring sessions.
  • Reach out to you with important updates, program announcements, newsletters, and registration materials.
  • Benchmark program progress and monitor training cohort metrics.

04 Information Sharing

TRACE does not sell, lease, or distribute your personal data to third-party advertising or marketing services. However, in order to bridge the gap between academic theory and trade, we share candidate profiles under strict guidelines:

  • With Mentors: Academic credentials, CVs, and project submissions are shared with certified TRACE mentors to facilitate code reviews and professional guidance.
  • With Corporate Partners: CVs and project portfolios of students enrolled in Practitioner tracks are shared with our partner network (e.g. Nagarro, 99x, ThinkTank, Worklenz, etc.) to evaluate candidates for internships or employment positions.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by Sri Lankan law or regulatory authorities.

05 Data Security

The security of your personal data is critical to us. We employ standard technical and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, theft, alteration, or loss. This includes secure hosting servers, access control boundaries, and encrypted communication channels.

Please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute safety.

06 Your Rights

You have control over how your data is managed. Depending on your program enrollment state, you hold the following rights:

  • Right of Access: You can request a summary of the personal information we currently hold for you.
  • Right to Correct: You can ask us to update or modify outdated or incorrect information in our system at any time.
  • Right to Erasure: You can request that we delete your application records or registration data. Please note that requesting deletion may affect your ability to participate in ongoing programs or receive program credentials.
